Join us to learn the ancient art of belly dance!

Belly dance provides a subtle workout that gently builds muscle, increases flexibility, improves posture, and builds confidence.  This ancient dance form is unique in its focus on control and intent, and the exploration of emotion, theme, and mood to infuse your performance with self-expression.

All fitness levels are welcome—no experience necessary.  Wear comfortable clothing and get ready to have some fun!

For level 1, we will start with the basic isolations and movements, and end with a simple, choreographed dance!

For level 2, we will attempt slightly more challenging variations, and end with an advanced choreography.

How to find us at The Union:

The Union is located on Town Center Drive, which circles Fairlane Mall.

From Evergreen, enter at the sign for Fairlane Town Center, and turn left onto Town Center Drive--look for TGI Fridays on your left, and turn into the parking lot with signs for "The Union".

There are several brown brick buildings, and class is inside a building called "The Victors' Den"--a two-story building with tall vertical windows (you may be able to see the fitness equipment through the windows).

The fitness center is just to the right of the main entrance of The Victors' Den, and the door to our room might be locked.  I will be near the door before class to let everyone in, but if you get there before me or after class starts, you will need to ask someone at the desk for help--tell them you are there for class with Abida.  I will have my phone out, please call or text 313 506 3073 if no one is at the desk.

Also, we have a portable door bell that I will put out after I arrive--look for a small off-white device on the ledge between the doors to the fitness center.  Push and -hold down- for about 2 seconds.
