Blazing Belly Dance Biography

Blazing Belly Dance was founded by Abida Blaze in 2007, and has performed at numerous events and festivals around southeastern Michigan, including: Relay for Life cancer walks, Redford Township Festival, Wyandotte street fair, Corktown Music Festival, Music and Art in Goudy Park (Wayne, MI), People’s Art Festival (Detroit), Ignite nightclub at MGM Grand casino, and many more. 

Blazing Belly Dance has also hosted several benefit shows, with proceeds going to First Step of Michigan, Burners without Borders Detroit, Little Dresses for Africa, SASHA Farm, Alternatives for Girls, and more.

 

Abida is a full-time belly dance instructor, with over ten years of traditional and modern belly dance experience, and a background of jazz, tap, and modern dance.  As a performer, Abida is best known for her belly flutters and floor work.
